2024-2025 Teacher Grant Program

Dear Teachers,

 The ALA-Coastal PTO will offer The Teacher Grant program in lieu of our prior $1,000 per grade field trip allocation. The Teacher Grant Program is designed to fund enriching and educational experiences for all NaviGator students. If you, or your team, have a need that meets the criteria of the program, please consider submitting a proposal for a grant. Grants will be awarded by a majority decision of the PTO Executive Board based on available funds and budget allocation.

 It is important to note that the PTO cannot organize, secure, or plan any field trip or student educational enhancement event. All instructional time activities must be planned internally by school officials. A Grant request can be made anytime throughout the year until the cutoff date and should be submitted 4   weeks minimum prior to your event or activity to allow time for HOS and PTO Executive Board approval.

Criteria:

  • Grants must provide a wide range of student.
  • Grants cannot be used for end of year celebrations, parties. Grants can, however, provide a meal for every student attending a field trip or educational event.
  • Grant request cutoff date for the 2023/2024 school year is Friday, April 25, 2025. Grants submitted after this date will not be considered.
  • Grants may not be used for staff development and/or related.
  • Grants may not be used to stock standard class supply needs.
  • Materials purchased through the grant program will be considered the property of American Leadership Academy
  • Grants are meant to provide funds for projects for which other funding is not. The school HOS and/or PTO will consider whether there may be other sources available for the money requested.
  • Grants are allocated individually to each teacher and have the following limits:

  • Grade level teachers: $250 limit
  • Specials, Electives, Extra-Curricular Activities, SPED teachers: $300 limit
  • Grants are non-transferable. Grants must be utilized by the allocated teacher and/or allocated teacher’s grade. A teacher’s personal grant allocation cannot be given to another grade.
  • Grade Teachers may combine their individual Grant allocation of $250 per teacher for approved grade level field trips. EXAMPLE: (4) 5th grade teachers are planning a trip to StarBase Camp to enhance STEM educational With PTO and HOS approval, all 4 teachers may combine their individual Grants for a total of $1,000 to apply towards expenses associated with this event.
